In its old streets, some still stone-paved like calle Tacna, you can appreciate the typical houses of sillar (white volcanic stone), some of them built more than 100 years ago and that despite earthquakes they maintain stand-up.

The Mirador de Yanahuara, a few steps from the hotel, is an obliged visit point for the travellers. From here you will have a panoramic view of the city and the Misti volcano. It is built in sillar and its arcades have some written reliefs with phrases of the most reknowned poets and writers of Arequipa.

In the same place, the Plaza, you will also find the Church of Yanahuara, one of the oldest and most beautiful in all the city (built in 1750). In front of it, you can visit the Callejon del Cabildo (alley) and the Chiribaya Pre-inca Museum.

Yanahuara concentrates the most traditional picanterías arequipeñas (typical restaurants) like La Nueva Palomino and Sol de Mayo. In this restaurants you can taste the best dishes of the local gastronomy.
